    Default 25 sxt cat

Well I went ahead and am going to trade with my buddy. except I decided to trade engines too! figured I wouldn't have been that much better off, w/ my engine, cuz I would still be in the 9.00 a gallon race gas only, so we traded straight across! warlock has a 502 w/ a whipple & whipplecooler, and he claims 92mph on the gps speedo, so I can be happy about that! now I can finally fit my whole family in the boat, and buy 92 pump gas!

yes I traded my 68 rs/ss L78 375hp 4 speed car & the 12-71 blown all roller ,etc jetboat + a fully machined 4 bolt 454 block, fresh steel crank keyed for blower, JE blower pistons, Crower 6.535 rods, Merlin 345 heads,
that I had started porting( 1 completed, 1 still in box, HA HA) K-950 roller springs, fluidampner, muncie 4-speeds, pretty much everything I had collected over the years! but after seeing the boat, I still feel I got the better end of the deal, because I have 2 kids, and going to the lake before with the 2 seater blown boat(pretty much a drag boat) would cost me 500.00 in fuel, could only take one passenger, kids really didn't like it,
(4-1/2 blower headers-too loud) etc, etc, in other words, not practical for a family! (but it was daddy's toy) now, I can fit the whole family, engines
completely covered, (it's a 502, with a whipple, and a whipple cooler, IMCO powerflow exaust w/ gibson SS transom mounted mufflers, and he says it has gone 94mph on the gps spedo! + the boat is beautiful! looks brand new, has many upgrades, in other words, I could never have afforded to buy a boat of this caliber, and my family is very happy now!

Default took the boat out yesterday

ran up to lake SanAntonio yesterday, to check out the boat at speed,
couldn't be happier! boat is Awesome!! blows over chop that used to make
me cringe in the jetboat like nothing! Took her easy coming out of the hole, gradually increased speed, pulls great! Has a lab finished, 32p bravo
prop on it, took it up to a mild 4200rpm, and the gps was reading 85mph!
didn't even attempt to full throttle it! (had the whole family in the boat)
need to get used to the boat , before getting too ballsy, but needless to say, don't miss the jetboat at all !!

Sounds like it can run. Congrats. What gear ratio are you running 1.35?

yes, I'm very surprised, and happy how it runs! what did bum me out though, is what my buddy did with my jetboat(guess it's not MY boat any
more though) 10 years of hard work and fabrication, it was my baby! and
he cannibalized it, robbing all the high dollar parts, hardware, etc. for his car projects( yes, he's a car guy) he didn't even take it out once! before he pulled the motor! now he's putting the short block back in it, minus the
pan, heads, roller valvetrain(all CROWER) etc. and its going up for sale!
it almost hurt! for about 5 minutes! thats how much I love this new cat!
    anyway, gotta say cats rule!!!

Default oh yeah, its a 1.50 ratio,

drive said 1.50 ratio, so i don't get the 85mph at 4500rpm. does this sound correct for speed to rpm? 32p bravo 1 4 blade, lab finished !
also, how can I change my user name? it's not quite fitting anymore!!

    Default Prop

I thought it was a 1.50. 32 is alot of prop for a 1.35 unless you have a shet load of power

    Default ran up to nacimento...

ran up to naci for the day, boat ran great, but the waters so low that
it gets pretty narrow in some spots. did go for some speed runs though,
still didn't throttle it all the way for any extended time, got it to 90mph,
and the tach was reading about 5000 to 5200, had it trimmed almost all
the way up, and could tell it was still picking up speed, but ran out of room, and had to back out of it. What I didn't like however, was seeing
my oil temp get to 220* in a relatively short time.(it's only got a 5 qt automotive pan on it) anybody out there got a gen V marine/drag pan
(10 or 12/14qt) they want to sell? cash is kinda tight right now, and
wife won't let me spend 400.00+ on the boat at the moment!

    Default pan & cooler

I've got a bad a-s oil cooler, thats even thermostaticly controled-it's
about 5" in diam. and about 12 to 14" long.. been saving it for years!
(wouldn't fit in jetboat) Just need to find a decent pan, or at least a
good Gen V stock core, so I could fab one. have made a few in the past,
but they were all Mark IV stuff, don't have any Gen V stuff laying around,
guess I'll start checking around machine shops and scrapyards!(anyone got a Gen V pan out there?
