Lightning boats
Was cruising a few boat builder websites and noticed lighting makes a 25 foot deck and a 27 foot cat. Does anyone have any insight into this company and these particular models? Are they splashes of another hull? Build quality, gelcoat, layup, performance,etc. I'll probably give them a shout this week sometime but wanted a third party opinion. Thanks, Dave

I beleive some of them are old Ultra Hulls like the xs series, but that 25 Deckboat is hideous!

What I have been told is that their cats are the old Orion cats.
I heard the same thing.
It still looks nicer than the x-flight deck. But yeah, its fugly.The V hulls are pretty nice.
I remeber hearing about smeone that had a really nice 27 Cat with big HP. He ended up being really unhappy with the handling of the boat.

NONE of the cat models are based off of Ultras. I want to make sure that everyone does understand that Lightning is in NO way affiliated with Ultra Boats. I just heard from an insurance investigator last week that sent me a picture of an 06 Ultra that was not an Ultra, but a Lightning.
was that another one with your stickers on the side but NOT your HIN'S??
They actually issued it numbers using the old HIN from when the numbers started UBI years ago. They registered it as an Ultra and everything. I hear they still have a big Ultra sign on the front of the building too. I will be heading up that way soon to see for myself before I contact my lawyer.

I have a Lightning and is has been a great boat. When I bought it they never claimed to be a dealer for ultra or even make ultra's. They made it very clear they were not affiliated and that they were at one time a dealer for Ultra.
Are they really only putting 1 canopy on it? That's strange!ya i agree, like a one eyed monster with that one sided canopie
