Syn or Dino?
Is there an oil expert in here that can tell me why Volvo specifies synthetic GL-5 instead of petrleum GL-5 in there drives? What damage would using petroleum GL-5 cause in the drive?

Because of the cone clutch. Always run what the Mfg. recommends. Always.

Ahh, clutch. 10-4. I take it this isn't a marketing ploy to sell synthetic GL-5 gear lube. Thanks for the reply.
