Talk to me, is this a good hull, manufacture?
At first I thought it was a 25' Daytona.
It has a 502, only does 70 but appears to be a clean boat.
Owner's asking $25K he's the second owner BTW
Thanks for any feedback![]()

Here it is...again, at first I thought it was a Daytona.
Owner told me "it's the exact hull as the 25' Daytona"

It's a Talon based bottom, which most cats are.
Rudy Ramos gave his blessing to a guy named Johnny Ray...last name slips me right now.
Long story short, Johnny did a prison stint over nefarious activity in building these boats, my buddy at LASO put him away.
Had a former neighbor with the same year model/hull, had some issues with one of the sponsons as I can recall. There was definately a gap in quality of these boats based on the shady dealings behind them, check it out well before purchase, could be a very good boat though.
FIRE IN THE HOLE!
I have a 2002 Rayson Craft Cat and mine is a 26 not a 25. I bought the hull from Jonny and put it together with a friend. The structure of my boat is solid, my gel was and is a little thin and are some inpefections in the splashed mold and therefore the boat. I have had it for 8 years and have loved every minute of it. I have the 496 HO and hit 68-70 all day long and is super smooth. $25k seams like a good price, I wouldn't sell mine for $25K. I believe I saw this boat over at 714 Motorsport in HB back in 2002 as they are the ones that did Rayson's interiors.
I would just check it over and if it fits your likes and needs buy it. You won't find a better riding hull. It is the original 25 Talon hull and most other 25 and 26 ft hulls are a copy of it . For some reason the raysoncraft rides perfect. I have been beating up on mine since 2005 and it is holding up great. Only have some new stress cracks in one area from pure driver error ( huge tuna boat roller wake=airtime )
sounds like a sweet deal $$$$$
racer
BTW the hulls are all registered as 26 ft but really measure around 25'8" I believe. Big difference in insurance costs from a 25 to a 26 FYI
Johnny Ray Whitsett,
Should be out of prison by now, real BS king for sure.

Thanks for the further feedback > think I'll check it out on the trailer and craw around it a few times.
Rain here for the next few days but maybe I'll know more after this weekend.
The owner said 70 mph with the 502, and have no idea about the hours on the engine or drive.
I would like to get something more versatile than my 21' Daytona Jet, time will tell.
sooooo > if it's clean in and out, $25K is a decent price > really???
Rudy Ramos invented Rayson Craft back in the 50's, he was a legendary Vdrive racer whose hulls rivaled Schiada, Howard back in the day.
This cat and the bigger boat molds were brought in by Johnny Ray and Rudy gave his blessing (he was in retirement), to use the legendary name.

Thanks for the further feedback > hoping to see this thing closer Sunday.
Guys, I kinda know what to look for in and around the boat > stress cracks, root etc however >>> I have no idea what to look for when it comes to the outdrive and all related hardware/parts.
PROBLEM > I can't find the owners phone number, unless I catch him on the water again too bad for me
Just Sunday my neighbor said, "no problem, you can keep a second boat on my property"
