Not sure on the size of the nuts...but always keep your shaft greased!!! BWAHAHAAA
In all seriousness keep the splines and exposed shaft greased to keep corrosion to a minimum.
Does not matter if it is a 4 horse outboard or a number 6. I ran my 2.5 outboard without grease beacause it was messy...that led to corrosion, then a cracked shaft and a thrown $750 prop in the bottom of the lake...also a wrecked lower unit.
Well the socket to tighten it is 1 7/16's you grease the shaft and put anti-seize on the threads.
I tighten the cleavers down with a block of wood and use a torque wrench set to about 80 foot lbs...the standard Bravo prop is 55lbs so I figured a bit more for insurance as the washers are not dimpled. Some think it is too much but I do not want to loose a 4-5K prop due to the nut coming off.
