Cutting edge props anybody heard anything?

Anybody run one of their CUTTING EDGE props? Know anything about them? I've run the Bravo 4 blades, and really like the Hydromotive 5 and 6 blades, and recently repowered the 22 Daytona. I currently ran the Bravo 4 blades in 28 and 29 with the old motor (540), I will probably need a 31 to 33 with the new one (1.5 lower). When I get the correct hub, I will try the 5 (30)and 6 blade (33) Hydromotive P5x and P6x that I have for the big boat. Seen a bunch of the Cutting Edge props on Evil bay for .99 start cost and $575.00 reserve, that kind of game playing turns me off immediatly for their product, BUT if somebody has had good results, I might bite the bullet and try the unknown. I was looking to buy a prop that was built to my specifications and needs. I would recommed you call and talk to Greg. He will take in your information about your boat, discuss your current issues if any, and your needs.

I just ordered a prop from him and should be getting it soon as the box props were not working. I feel the best information comes directly from the source. The call and conversation is free.....Nothing to loose but a few minutes of time....

When you look at labbing or modifying an existing prop five to six hundred dollars isn't that bad considering the prop you are purchasing is being built based on your specific needs and not a broad range.....

Tried it today, tach died immediatly, all wires and power to it OK though. Original 29 Bravo 4 blade, used to plane kind of slow. Now it pops up like a jet boat! But I can blow it away just about any where, any RPM. The 30 actually slightly loads the motor, but I can still blow it away. Couldn't borrow a hub for the 5 or 6 blade Hydromotives. Mebbie I'll have the 1.5 gears swapped for 1.35s or taller like the big boat. After about an hour of playing, I wasted an exhaust gasket even tho the egts were good. End of testing today. I will call cutting edge monday. Motor sounds good anyway. TIMINATOR

I'm gonna give 'em a try after this latest Bravo 4 blade mod. I have had added some tail cup twice now, and tip cup twice too on the 30 /4 blade Bravo. Its a bunch more than stock and it works well except at about 90+ where I am getting into the fat part of the torque curve, (4200-4400 rpm or so) where it will suddenly break loose and immediatly run up to 5200 rpm and the boat doesn't seem to ever catch up to the rpm. Compared to other stock props rpm wise it runs the same at speed as a 32/33 pitch. I tried a Hydromotive P5X 29 and a P5X 31 5 blade props on it, but even the 31 had more rpm per mph than the reworked Bravo 30 (32-33 now). Before I added the external dual ram steering, I thought I was gonna die!!! The Bravo had a bunch of prop torque but the 5 blade Hydromotive was viscous! The main issue with the 5 blade is that it won't go slow enough in the 5 mph zones, and it runs 9 mph or so at 900-950 rpm in gear(gps speedo). It also wanders pretty badly at idle speeds with the 5 blade. Richard at the Propeller Company in Havasu has been working with me on the 28 and 30 Bravos and we want to "creep up" on the cup to try to find the optimum for the Daytona (22). Once we get it as good as possible with the Bravo we will use that for the new baseline, as I really like the overall performance of it. Then we do the same with the new prop and I will have a valid comparison. Compared to the Bravo 4, the Cutting Edge has more trailing and tip cup to begin with than we have so far added to the Bravo. I'm anal, this is how I learn, and then I know what I want to try next. P.S. I still have no idea how fast this rig is yet, I see no point in pushing it until I'm satisfied with the midrange performance. Peak power is at 5850 rpm. I'm also worried about breaking the drive with the 5 blade too, as it loads the motor much more on the bottom end. TIMINATOR

HOOO BOY!!! The latest incarnation of the reworked 30 Bravo (actual pitch about 33) is really close now! No blowing away the prop anywhere at all! More bow lift, more responsive steering, same holeshot, lower cruise RPM. What more could I want! GPS antenna wire came undone, but rpm was well over 5000 when I got out of it! Max HP rpm is 5850, so we're getting close! YAY Richard! Thanks Propeller Company in Havasu! Then I try Cutting Edge. TIMINATOR
