ok for peeps that know about gel coat , I need your help. I have a 1977 spectra 20. love the boat and great for the family. problem is the deck is got what looks like paint crack and bubbles all over. I noticed at the waterline its getting bubbles in the gel. I dont believe the boat has ever been re gel coated. I did read that back about 1977 spectra tried to cut corners and bought cheap gel and some boats were having huge issues. anyway for the fix, I can see this product needs to come off in order to fix. will soda blast work? or i am thinking this may be to big of a project and get another hull and swap hardware. i can post pic if needed
Lol I wish then I would know the issue but it's below the water line. What's bad is we like the boat but as you know I don't need another project. If it too much to do ill dump it .

Well my wife found the issue I think. When I bought the boat I got a huge file of everything that has been done to the boat inc service. It has the orig owners booklet for the berkeley jet and the warranty card from Burbank marine. Also the biggie. In 1994 the deck , sides were re gel coated . Reading and sounds right. Gel too thin, or contamination prior to spraying. Gonna pull off a blister and see what's under it
