Default Where to put full stringer If at all?

Is the only way to make the full stringer take old one out? Or can one be added on? Or one ran beside it? If so then I will just put the floor back in. That is if anything other total replacement is a waste of time and weight. This is my first boat and don't know if I want to mess with aligning the engine to the pump. Could I possibly sister (bolt) one up on the outside of existing? I watch HOLORINHAL do it and I want to try it. Any help is greatly appriciated Thanks Johnf.

John, how far apart are the short stringers now( engine mounts)?
    Mine were 24" inside dimention.
If it were me and that is just me, being that i was that far along, i would take the shorty stringers out and replace with full length, instead of running new ones beside the old shorties.
If you are going to reuse your curent engine mount hardware, it realy isnt a big deal to reset the engine. Just make sure you have the proper spacing for the mounts, between the stringers.
All that being said, you would need to decide if the boat is something you are wanting to keep for a while and how much effort you are willing to commit to it. In my opinion it would be worth the effort.

If it will be only a pleasure/ski boat, with only moderate performance, then putting the floor back in would be just fine. I personally like stringers to mount things to.
On a side note, make sure you relive the corners of those small intermediate floor frames and the rear of the center frame so that they do not trap moisture in between them and drill a drain to the bilge.
