    Default Blueing of Headers

Wasn't sure were to post this question and I probably know the answer but you never know! Is there any thing that you can use to remove or atleast diminish the blueing on headers

I tried a few things and they didnt work but mine were kinda bad not burned to a crisp but they got hot one time when my T got plugged up on the river.I guess when they get blued you have to live with it or get them ceramic coated thats what is getting done to mine this winter.

I tried that stuff before having mine CERAMAKROMED. It didn't work any better than any other metal polish I had tried. I bought my Bassett's used and they had the usual rust and blued areas, some effort with 0000 steel wool and various different metal polishes brought them back to a very acceptable apperance, but constant maintenence was required to keep them looking good.

A good HTC coating on headers is very easy to maintain, and actually the shine keeps getting better, the more you polish the deeper the finish becomes. Had my pan and headers done last winter and wish I had done it sooner.

Me personaly I like the looks of blued pipes. I have heard but never tried useing copper wire wraped around each pipe 1 inch of so wide at the frange will dissipate the heat and contain the blueing to a minimum.

kaboom soap and water stain remover from oxy clean works pretty good takes the blue out and turns it into a dull silver look
