Default 76 Hondo T-deck needs help

My old Hondo, now my sons, has severe gel cracks and also just worn down at the water line. It is a very light hull that flexes a lot (definitely no stepping on the deck). Being this light and thin, I'm wondering what the process would be to repair the cracks. It seems like grinding it out would be the way to go but there doesn't seem to be much below the gel coat.
Any thoughts/suggestions? Also, any recommendations for a good shop in the Temecula area?

I think you'll have too sand closer to the substrate till the crack is gone.
At $100/ hp plus injection oil it's just to expensive to go that slow!

I have a 74 Hondo jet with the same cracks on the deck, I sanded mine all the way down to Fiberglass. Shot primer and painted looked beautiful but all came back with in a couple of years. I think the only way to fix them would to lay a new layer of glass across the deck.
