Default Wanted gel coat person or company

I have a 1985 19' open bow California Performance boat that I would like to re-gel coat. There are some minor fiberglass issues ( stress cracks at the rear of the boat) that would need to be completed ofcouse before re-gel coating the boat. Does anyone have any suggestions of a person that does great work? I live in Blythe, California. I am looking in Lake Havasu in a week but would like suggestions of an individual or company that I should contact for a quote. Thanks, David

Kornowskis Kustom Marine is located in Lake Havasu. He's been praised many times here on the boards. Sorry the link to the thread on page 3 in the open water section didn't work. If your going to come to so cal there are many shops here such as Rick @ Islander marine in Ontario, Todd Griggs, 626/991-9031 TRG here on the boards does very nice work and Stu @ Tracer Marine in Corona-951/287-1717. Stu does a lot of very nice flattie restos you can see in the v-drive section. Tell them Warren sent ya. Good luck with your search and let us see the results. Thanks

Thanks Warren, many people have suggested Scott, so he will be on my list. I have also heard a lot of good things from the other gentlemen you have suggested. Havasu, is just closer. Going to pull a few things out of the boat and then travel to Havasu.

Right on, that would be my first choice too. Keep us posted on the progress and how things turn out if you can. Are you going mild or wild with the new gel work? Are you doing bottom work or other mods as well while your at it? I envy you peeps with the coin that can pony up for nice work to be done. This gel coat stuff is a lot of work. The guys that do this for a living bad ass mofo's for sure.

Holy Crap Warren, small world. Yes I did sell you the headers. I hope they have worked out well for you. As far as the project, I have three options. Have my boat completely redone but a classic look (same colors just more of it on the boat), a new hull (but Bill probably will not sell me a bare hull) or do some minor cosmetic fixes and be happy with what I have. I probably should clarify on the hull, I may not be able to afford a new hull. I have heard some big numbers when it comes to re-gel coating a boat so as it goes they have to see it before they can give a quote. We should know soon enough. David

Sounds cool keep us posted on the progress if u can. I admire you guys with the coin to be able to have the pros do this for you.
I have yet to finish the boat build so the headers are still hanging on the wall but when I pressure checked them they appear to be ok. Kinda hard to really get a good/solid pressure check with the way the water dumps into the collector but we did the best we could. So far they appear to be fine. Hopefully ready by the end of the year. I'm real tired of it but can't seem to stop making the can of worms a little bigger. haha friggin redic.

Call Boulder Marine in Boulder City, NV They do most of the fiberglass and gel repairs in Vegas area. You can face book Boulder Marine boat shop for photos
