Default Fiberglass repair - Major hull damage

I have a pretty good idea what I need to do to make the repairs to the bottom, but wanted to throw it out on the boards for advise. The guy I bought the boat from started grinding and started the repair on the crack with marine poly resin. Should I continue with the poly resin or epoxy? Cut out the entire damaged mat and lay up new mat and glass? What type of mat would you use?

Sorry for the close up pics. The damage is mainly on starboard side, strakes, and bottom of the hull. There was not damage to the stringers.

PS. some of the photos are sideways, but you can see the damage.

Just like to see what the experts think.........Calling Offshore Ginger

Hey guy , nice project , and not to mention that if i was you i would go with Epoxy because........... even though it might cost a bit more it is more user friendly , no stank , longer pot life which means more work time ,which just might be a God send depending on your location , and to tell you the truth no matter how you decide to attack this project you will have to grind along with cutting out bad material , and if i can help you in any way ( questions / advise ) feel free to ask or shoot me an E-Mail .
