Almost all of the good paint manufacturers have flatteners. Any quality urethane will be fine. I'm sure you've already thought about how hot the black on the water will be.

I never seen black. I have seen white, blue and a grey one. OH. That was primer. I liked the flat white one.

was thinking about doing mine that way. stick with colors you see in my avatar, just flatten it out. I was qurious about water spotting. The flat clear looks porous, is it? hate to get hard river water spots in there.

PCL products offers a flat black finish that , to me is by far the easiest Flat black I have ever tried to use! Ive been doing a shitload of flats lately on bikes and old cars, the PCL product is my favorite!
The weird part is...you apply the clear first then the flat black over the clear, you can watch the finish flatten away after you clean your set up!
you dont have to deal with tiger striping either, just use a slow reducer!!!!!
The fast will cure too quick and you will have a shitty looking finish!

how well will this paint allow for paint over for adding accents of gloss white and some gloss black?

been using the "hotrod black" for a while, the only flat I've found that resists smudging.

its actually easy. i use all ppg products. i would clear the boar otherwise if anything gets on it your done. i use the 2010 clear then add flatening agent to it. the store will have a formula for how much to put in for your results. mercedes used alot of it on the side panels so i have become familiar with it

actually, I have some pics, but unfortunately I cannot get them up here until after the holiday, but it is in a new Tuner nissan Z and the typical hood and top of the car was cleared after the fact (Shine), all I did was let the flat cure, lay out a desired tapeline, back mask and prep to the fineline edge, prep fully and clear, or apply a different color of base!
