Has anybody used the west system #105 and #207? How does it compare to products like Duratec and others? The application I'm inquiring about would be for coating the stringers and floors?

Hey guy the 105/ with 207 has a great finish when a natural wood finish is desired but still reguires further UV protection and to tell you the truth i have used Duratec products for years with great sucess but ..............the PRESTEC , just might be a better way to go .
Paul's boat turned out fantastic. And I always heard: A true professional isn't judged by how few mistakes they make. But rather, how they deal with the mistakes once they are made.
I hope my boat turns out as nice.![]()

The company I work for sells it. So I was asking if it was ok to use in place of products like Duratec. The floors and stringers are original.
I dont know that it would be the right thing to use. It has no UV barrier so you still would have to clear coat it when you where done. You would also have to sand it all out because there is no way of laying it down perfectly smooth and this stuff is tough (60-80 grit) to sand out. Not saying it cant be done but think it would be MUCH less work and have the same end result with a flow coat. Something else I will say is without the clear coat on top of the west systems it gets almost tacky or soft in the heat. Not soft soft but I would bet you could leave a haze in it if you rubbed it. my .02
Thank's so much for the information from all of you. It's very helpful knowing you will get an answer and the pro's and conn's of it to....
How much Duratec do you need to do a basic flow coat on floors and stringers? ON a basic flat bottom..
