Default Flip a boat over...by yourself..

Trying to get enough people together to flip it over seemed like a pain and getting them back to to do it again sounded like less fun...so i did it myself.
Its hung from the rafters on one end...for some reason there are 3 trusses
right where i needed them. I tied the pitch to the horizontal beam with a sheet of 3/4 ply and bolted a 2' piece of 1.5X1/4" flat to the truss with 6" lag bots...i pulled the motor with it..never even made a noise. The other end uses the 4x12 glue lam for the door.
    I spent about 9hrs time, 3 10' 4x4, some scrap 1/2 ply and 2x4 and a box of grabber screws and 6' all-thread

I had to drill 2 3/8 holes in the front of the stringers..used the bolt holes for the rails in the back....I had an issue with flex on the beam in the front.had to cheat and screw a block of wood to the bow to tie it together....4 grabber screw holes..easy fix.

I hit the line for the roll center pretty close.it rolls over by hand.
And good thing the ceiling in garage is 8'5"....if it was standard 8' i might
have had to knock out some sheet rock to get the sponsons to clear....don't want to do that..i just got done replacing all the sheet rock.

    Clever.

I was thinking about something similar (fixture) to flip mine. The big difference is I'm working outside and do not have any skyhooks available. I would need to make a pedestal on each end that the fixture could connect too and rotate.

I have a 77 GT Boats bubble squirter. I am in the process of overhauling the entire boat.

">I was sanding cracks in the resin on the floor tonight and have a few issues that i am not sure about...
The resin i way thick...about .060-.090 and the cracks go right through to the top layer of cloth.

Is it ok to sand into the cloth to make sure all the cracks are gone?
It wouldn't bother me if i had to add 1c layer of cloth over the top. It's only the area between the stringer.

And i found water....That appears to be a water stain because it is...The gas pedal was screwed to the floor and the stain is probably old, but after i pulled the pedal out i went to car was and it had a little water trapped under the resin.
I want the stain gone. Can i just sand through the cloth till it's gone and put some new back in?

Is there any better way to bolt gas pedal down than with screws?
    thanx

Mike. I filled in some spots where the resin was to thick. I sanded it down to the cloth and refilled with a mixture of cut glass and resin mix. Like Bondo, it helps to add some to make the resin more of a solid. Then if needed apply a layer of cloth before Gel Coating.

    Default 77 hondo

i know this prolly doesnt need to be posted here. but since yall are talking about steering and hondos. i have a question. i have a 77 hondo shovelnose that has inboard steering. there is a hole under the bottom for the rudder. but also there is a hole going thru kinda beside the strut. the hole beside the strut looks like it has a threaded sleeve in it. also the hole by the strut has been covered on top with the floor but open on bottom. any idea what that hole is for? could the steering have been moved? nice idea on the jig to turn boat over. i need to do the same

Talk to a prop guy! remember the motor is in backwards and without the proper prop for the offset you will fight it all day. M
