    Default laminate adhiesion

    just curious what everyone is using to adhere the laminate to the floors . i have used resin and also high strength adhesives. both have good and bad.

    hey guy , could you be a little more specific on your laminate and what type of material you are using or trying to laminate .

    Polyester resin here.....36-50 grit for the tooth, and beveled the edges on a table saw.

    Some folks add a layer of mat under the laminaton too, to minimize trapped air.

    i used red oak non paperback laminate its 1/16 thick. i bought a a cabinet shop

    Are you covering a shit area, or is this new wood over non existent wooded area?
    if you are covering old balsa that is cracked out or other issues, you will find that most likely that the problem will show up sooner rather later (Generally speaking!)
    Ive used the thin lam on transoms of Birds eye maple, turned out real nice IMO, one thing to remember when dealing with the thin stuff, when its wetted down, the Knots are prone to becoming weak spots if you feel the need to play with it, this was my problem in dealing with the Maple product.

    no after the stringers were re-glassed and sanded down I used thin laminate over the whole stringer. this is just for beauty and not structural
