Re doing the fl;oors
holy crap after 4 hours of bruteful sanding with 1 X8" makita grinder with 36 grit sanding serated disc , 1 x 4" peanut grinder 36 grit, 1 porta- cable belt sander 40 grit i have a 16" X 36" area stripped??? looks like it snowed all around my bout is there a faster way?? i look like frosty the snow/fiberglass dust man this old resin and glass must be at least 1/4" thick

I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN!!! Im doing my 72 sanger I used the same tools. I have been doing mine on and off for a couple of months and I have one side stripped out. My wife my son and my friends all keep giving me crap if the boat will ever be done! I HOPE SOME OF THE PROFESSIONALS ON HERE GIVE YOU SOME ADVICE!! I WILL BE WATCHING THIS THREAD! If the fiberglass is delamed it's best (and easier) to just cut it out. I use a cordless portable small skillsaw and set the depth to about 3/16. Run it up against the stringer and then back down the gunnel and then just lift the glass off. It usually comes off in sheets by using this method.
Is the original wood visually savable? If the woods integrity is still there however it is a little unsighly, you might want to vaneer over it.
I'm not a pro but I have done a few and am currently working on another one. I keep telling myself I will never do floors again however I keep getting pulled into it one way or another.....

Its actually black Duratek with clear Duratek over it. I didn't like the lower shine of the Duratec so I shot an automotive clear over that. Cut and buffed and then done.
I did the same thing with the floors as you did. wanted to save the originals. They sanded out nice however once resin was layed down they didn't look that great anymore. That's when I chose to go with a vaneer.

ok here are a few pics, you can see the plywood which looks like clear acx ply , seems to be in really good shape and will probably look really good after i hit it with a belt sander to smooth and flatten it all out.
the center area around the v drive between the stringers , im going to do the same grinding ,relay with 1 sheet of glass fabric 10 oz. and black epoxy resin keep the cracks from coming back thru
the outside the stringer areas ill finish up with the grinding process evaluate reglass and clear o overlay with this cork flooring material,2 layers of 10 oz, gass and clear, at the same time ill relat 1 or 2 layers also on the stringers and go black on them so ill end up with i think a very nice looking floor system when done, im also going to black out the transom and foot board
Here is a picture of my floor after a couple years of workin on it slowly. Lot of stress cracks, cut the glass tanks out and started sanding with 36 grit. It's just about ready to go to paint now.
What you get out of it will depend on how much time you wanna spend on it. Good luck with the project!

wait,I redid my floor with one layer of 1.5 oz mat and there is no way I could've got it that smooth.I just brushed mine,did you spray yours or something?How did you get it so you cant see the glass?
i could be wrong but i think u need a little more than one layer of mat? my floor has multiple layers of cloth 7.5 0z if i remember right .... and you flow them to get em smooth, finishing resin / surfboard resin / i make mine, seen it alot of different ways honestly, maybe we will get a few more thoughts from others
(GN7)Just a simple waste of perfectly good sour mash. If you need a fuel, use something that will poison you, not something that makes you buzzed.
