i have two hallets that have done this in the same exact locations. Ive been told to use fiberglass filler but it seems to me like it will just crack again. any advice would be apreciated!

What model and year is your boat? My 88' Hallett Vector has some crazy gel coat cracks. The fiberglass is solid, just looks like crap.
The difference between genius and stupidity...is that genius has its limits...

I have two, one is a 65 hallet flattie and the other is a 71 hallet flattie marathon hull both have the same cracks
Corey , who ever told you to use a fiberglass filler is an idiot and if you want to do the job right to it right the first time considering filler is just a band aid . Hey guy , 9 times out of 10 if the same crack appears in the same area on mutiple boats it most likey is a flaw in engineering or poor design which in any case need's to be addressed.
Ya I'm assuming I'm going to have to grind it out and use cloth and resin it's just going to be hard to get that seem straight enough for paint again
It appears to me to be cracking at the seam of the top and bottom halves. I would think you need to proceed as if you were capping the hull. V grind the seam and build it back up with resin and mat/cloth.
