I had a short question, a few years ago when i took all hardware out of the boat, the v-drive water pick up scoop was stuck to the bottom of the boat, I could not get it off, it had been there since 71. I ended up tapping it with a mallet from the inside to get it loose, I had already tried using a putty knofe, razors, everything I could to try and loosen it up from the bottm but no dice. I tapped it loose and when I went under the boat I saw that it ripped off the bottom of the boat (gel coat and all) I tried avoiding this but it happened. I could see the fiber glass matt it was white, not saturated with resin, the scoop still had the bottom of the boat stuck to it. I got some resin (home depot poly resin) and I just saturated the bottom of the boat and stuck the scoop back up, its all I could think of. The bottom looks fine Im just wondering if this is sufficiant for a fix???? I did not use laminating resin just regular poly after sticking it back up to the hull i let dry and sandes excess smooth.,,,,any thoughts?? is this ok??
