Default nice gm 3.760 stoke std std 427/396 crankshaft with snout cut for double keyways!!!!

Crank is a 6223 gm forging and it is std std and in nice shape. $225. Crank has dual keyways cut for a blower hub or balancer. Right now it is in california.

New, was this crank for a 396 or a 427? (The difference is in the the balancing material) Also, when last used, was it balanced for a heavy or light piston?

Is the crank in Northern or Southern California?

    Re: Propellers

My son, Joe took both of your propellers to Joey Gross Racing in Lodi, CA for a final inspection.

They determined both props to be in "pristine" condition.
In fact, they felt it was not necessary to have them magna fluxed or balanced.

I have a 6223 that came from GM in my 427/425hp 66 motor. At the time it was the best GM crank made I believe.

This crankshaft came in a lot of parts i bought from the sister of my suddenly deceased boat racer friend. There is no information on this crank on what application it was run in. That is one reason i priced it so cheap. I just dont need it. The crank was originally marked 454 on the tag and i sold it to a guy in southern ca. He informed me of it being a 427 so i refunded his money and told him to keep it there till i find a new buyer. Most everyone who has bought stuff from me lately has been in ca. I dont want to waste any more money shipping than necessary.

It was the best crank in '66.
There are only 2, 3.766 forgings. The 6223 and the 7115. The 7115 only came in the L88 and ZL1.
The 6223 was used in EVERYTHUNG else, INCLUDING the 366 and 427 truck engine.
If the 6223 is cross drilled then it is also heat treated and nitrited(tuffrided). If it isn't cross drilled then it isn't.
