Default Congratulations To My Wife - She Completed The AR50 - 50 Mile Endurance Run

She did a fantastic Job and finished in 9h 29m 58s. I am very proud of her. She needed 11 hours to qualify for the Western States 100 mile Endurance Run. Two years ago, this wasn't even a possibility in her mind. Last year she set a got to finish in under 11 hours (10 hours was kind of a dream goal) and she beat her "dream goal" by 30 minutes. This course is very challenging you run a full marathon on the road, then a 24 mile trail run that is almost all up hill. You climb nearly 1,000 feet in the last 5 miles alone and the last 3 miles is one of the toughest sections of any race out there. Congrats Baby!! Here is the elevation chart for the course.

That's unreal, I don't think I could run 50 miles in a month. I'm out of breath just reading about it. I love seeing people set a goal like this and achieve it. Congrats to your wife.

Awesome job. I've alway admired endurance runners. As a 5k guy in a former life I know how much training goes into doing this competitively, certainly much more than I was ever able to do at 35 miles a week. The dedication she's put in towards this is amazing. I wish her all the best in the Western States.

The Official Results are in... She finished in 9h 29m 36s which was 9th in her age group, 30th out of all women, and 218 overall in her first time running this distance and this race. 800 runners started the race and 686 finished in the 13 hour time limit, so 114 runners either dropped out or didn't finish in the 13 time limit. I am very proud of her.

Thank you to everyone for all the kind words. Rex, she qualified for Western States 100, but it is still a lottery to get in. She hasn't decided if she wants to take that one on yet. She isn't sure about running for 24 hours to 26 hours straight. LOL.

What ever she tells you to do. There is no way you'll be able to out run her to get away if you don't.

Tell her congratulations. That is a good time for any attempt at that run and a fantastic time for a first attempt. Does she have a trainer or did she do it all herself?
