Default Fuel leaking through vents on side of boat

I just recently topped off both of my tanks, one is now down to 3/4 and the other is still full but they both appear to be leaking fuel out and spraying down the sides of the boat when trailering. Do I just need to not fill the tanks up all the way or do I have a problem with my vents.

    Boat is a 2004 lightning.

This happened to my neighbors Hallet also while it was in his driveway. Several factors seemd to have contributed to it such as heat expansion, the angle of the driveway and full tank of gas. It should reach a point and stop for you.

Just sucks to have to wipe the boat down every time I trailer it. I get a good 5 feet of fuel spray on both sides.

Happened to me, Never top off and your boat might be angled to flat or forward on the trailer. What sucks is that when ur boat sits in its neutral position in the water, the tank wont be as full as it is on the trailer..... But I could almost guarantee ur topping it off. At least u know ur vents are working.. ;0

Thanks! Your probably the same guy who douched my rig with 87 octane on the I40?? At least we have a ton of Hot Sauce to clean up with! Btw.. Topping off your tanks and splashing fuel down the road is the least of your problems wait till you fire that Orange Cutie off on the ramp with fuel and vapors soaked in your engine compartment? BooYaaa!!! It will make the space shuttle look like a sparkler.

Mine too i try to fill up close to the river as possible when it's hot out. Pullin it down the freeway at 120 degrees seems to make mine leak too.

I put one of these on each vent line. Basically, a check-ball that allows AIR in/out, but no fluid out. Cheap and no more hosing down the sides when filling up / traveling full.

    Smart move.......

I get some spray if full or close to full, particularly when I tow it uphill in Havasu, not really had issues on normal flat roads.

I like the idea of this valve, thanks for the heads up. I'm gonna install two of them.
