NEED HONEYMOON HELP!!! Want to take the boat with us...

Shannon & I are getting married in Jefferson, TX on Saturday 10-6-2012. I am taking the boat down on Thursday & staying @ Crips-Camp on Caddo-Lake. Shannon will be staying in Jefferson. Tawakoni is about 100-miles east of Jefferson & there is a big rally there on that weekend. Would Friday be a good day to show up? Can't come on Saturday or Sunday.

We have been kicking around several different Honeymoon options (to include Caribbean, S. America, Mexico, etc.)... But I think We would like to keep our $$$ here in the states for the time being. Not a lot of $$$, but if we can help a few small business here; then it makes sense to me!!!

Does anyone know where (within 700-miles of NE Texas) we could possibly rent a house-boat for a week or so; & tow our boat behind for shore excursions, to play, etc? We would like to be able to get in the water (want warm water) but don’t want to put our boat in the "Salt-Water". I have taken a 1-day Coast-Guard & OHP marine safety & navigation course (required to tournament-fish in some states); & can produce the certification card.

It will just be the two of us, so a giant 50-60 footer is not needed; just wanna GO FLOAT, GO FAST, GET AWAY FROM THE OFFICE & HAVE FUN FOR A WEEK OR MORE!!!!

We are also interested in lakes/rivers that aren’t in Texas; such as LA, MS, FL-Pan-Handle…

I have “googled” the subject & came up with a few, but we don’t want a GIANT house-boat & definitely don’t want to have a dock towed out & anchored somewhere for the duration…

The basin water is muddy,but most of us grew up swimming in it....Awesome place to see if ya'll never been...There used to be houseboat rentals,contact Dave and crew at Welcome To McGees Landing if ya'll are interested....Maybe just a couple of days/nights here then off to another destination....Good luck/congrats.....

10-4, Looking down around New Orleans & still want to get out into the "swamp" a little. Thinking about staying @ Harrah's but want to make sure I have a safe place to keep the boat if we do that instead of renting a houseboat...

Tickfaw river or Lake Maurepas area. Don't know of any houseboat rental places but I'm sure there are some. Some nice bars and such in the area and can always cross Lake Pontchartrain into New Orleans if the weather isn't bad. The Prop Stop is located on Tickfaw. Boat only access. Fun place. The Tickfaw 200 poker run is down there first weekend of May. Literally a 200 mile poker run. I missed it this year ironically due to a wedding.
