Yup. Went by last Sunday. Not much there. I hope it opens someday. Put the pirate bar in competition. Maybe bring down prices and raise quality.

Wasn't there something along the lines of the owner couldn't get permits or something like that. I could be way off but I think I remember hearing something like that.
It looks and sounds to me like the guy simply got caught up in the cash crunch of a few years ago. Times were good, The Turtle was a success, Pirates was coming online, and I'm sure the Topock guy saw pie in the sky. His original plans called for a Conference center style resort with a full service midscale restaurant. What made the old place great was it's grittiness. I believe trying to compete with Pirates was a mistake, just my opinion. Hertz built an empire on being Number 2, they even advertised themselves as such. Topock could have been our number 2! Think of the business the old Topock would be doing today if he was still open. Not everyone wants Disneyland Pirates controlling their wallet at every turn. He should have developed the chanell and docks to support the current boat crowd and left it alone. I don't see the current leaseholder developing the parcel, it would have been started by now. He'll probably keep servicing the debt while trying to find new money then walk if nobody comes on board. I'm pulling for him though, we need an alternative in that part of the river.
My money is on the guy from Pirates having something to do with the permits issues...
Glad this is not at the other forum, someone would be banned for anything negative about PC!!!!
A BLM Officer told me last week Pirates Cove just bought it and will be doing something soon.

we were at moabi last weekend and they just put up sings the the beach on the right side is for guests only that are staying at the resort.. they are going to start charging 25 bucks to beach there with a voucher that can be used in there bar or zip line..not going back!!
I'm over that place too, but for some reason we always go back! Typically it's because our guest want to go, and we end spending a ton of money on beer we could have for free in our ice chest. Then they loose or credit cards.
Oh well the people watching can be amusing and it's like a big boat show.
On a side note. What's with the white Topock bridge being partially covered? What's going on there?
i heard they are painting it and its to keep paint chips from gettin in the water
