The Radio interview today with National Park Service stated any 2-strokes in or on anything on lake Mohave, just saying.I don't believe they could outlaw jet-ski's and not boat 2-strokes.Either way it sucks since they don't make them any longer just let them die off one by one. IMO.

This only applies to carbureted two stroke jet ski type watercraft.

Direct injected two strokes which comply with the 2006 EPA regulations are still allowed as are all outboards.

I plan on ignoring the new law. How are they going to enforce this. Mead and Mohave are big lakes. The Rangers have better things to do than chase jet skis that may or may not be direct injected. Plus why are my little jet skis banned and my buddy's 200 hp 2stroke outboard not banned. It makes no sense.

Ranger Dick: "Oh, what is that in that there jetski seadoo is it one of dem 2 or 3 stroke thingymabobbers" As he scratches his empty head in utter confusion.
Citizen on Vacation: "Um no, (dumfuck) it's a 4 stroke that has a extra large muffler to reduce emmisions and noise."
Ranger Dick: "Oh OK it's got 1 or two strokes more than the other kind, carry on."

The gates are only manned from 8 to 6. Just go early or late. Maybe I'll buy new 2006 graphics for my old jet skis.

I believe they knew they could only take on one at a time, so they started with PWC. Eventually, they will try to ban all carb 2-strokes, and later all 2-strokes period.

In my case, while none of my engines meet 2006 emissions requirements, the stickers are cheap and readily available. I will slap those stickers on and bet the Ranger or anyone else will have no idea what is really under the hood. Until they get some training that gives them the authority to say definitively what my engine is, I will count on their ignorance.

Maybe it is because the jet skis get on the limiter, if you are playing hard enough, dumping unburned fuel into the water.....?

Sadly I agree with Keith. They'd rather NONE of us have power anything. If CARB and all the parks had their way, we'd be using a paddle or sail.

There are Jet Skis on Mead only 4 months out of the year. They have fishing tournaments all year long. There is a lot of 2 stroke fishing boats
    .
The NPS website says "Why was this instituted? To keep your lake and national park clean. Lake Mead supplies drinking water for millions of people in Las Vegas " Yet the ban only applies to the NPS supervised lakes. There is no ban below Davis Dam. There is a lot of jet skis along Bullhead, Needles, and Havasu. That is where SoCal and Arizona get their drinking water. I guess the Federal Government does not care about the drinking water headed there.
