I was thinking about the 4th of july week at the river, and started thinking about how everytime i sit at the sandbar, i always meet the best people. The conversations are best ever, whether you just stand and bullshit or drift around checking out the other boats, which always leads to more great conversation. Where else are you gonna have a better more relaxed time than at any sandbar.

I was actually talking about havasu and parker, but this trip it was Parker and i met some bad ass people, a couple of old school guys that just made everyday at the sandbar bitchin.

When I want to see hot chicks in bikinis I go to Havasu and when I want to see pregnant guys in t-shirts I hit up Parker. For the record I don't go to Parker too much.....

You nailed it bro, I grew up in parker in the 70s and in the early 80s we used to go to sundance and then continue to havasu to the Crazy Horse campground. Havasu was the shit and still is,except for the fact that everytime i turn around a cop is waiting for a reason to put me in jail. I watch boats get pulled over in the channel for no reason at all except for disruptive behavior. Not my kind of scene, i may be one of the guys you described but at least i can go to the river and shred it. i'm not used to having to watch every step i take when i'm on vacation anymore. Don't get me wrong Havasu smokes and i wish i could go back there when they used to sell frozen margis under the london bridge and it didn't matter if you were in a canoe, you were in the party. Tear it up son.
