    Default Lake Ozarks Shootout

    Hello Everyone:

Doug Wright West is headed to LOTO for the Shootout and want to update everyone on the latest and greatest at LOTO.

Ron Duggan informed me they have new radar guns for this years Shootout. The goal is to capture the most accurate speed of every participant on each run without fail.

In the past I can attest to the system being very flawed/slower recorded speeds. They could be anywhere from three to five miles and hour slower on each run. This really hurts you when your trying to squeeze every bit of speed in such a short distance.

It should be a great time and I hope to have a great review when we return.

I hear the PB Mag crew of King Creole and Ray Lee are coming out to cover the event hopefully we see you there.

I know Gary S. is probably going this year again as well as Buck S.

If anyone else is headed to LOTO post up.

If your around come say hello.

Well I hear there are gonna be some boys coming to LOTO with Outboards hopefully I will have my "A" game going on!

I would like to go to RDP and Monsterbash is on the ticket....time is the biggest constraint.

What speeds are you expecting out of your boat, KAP?

I might show up and run my brothers chit. He keeps a nice little cat there. He lives right on the lake. I just put up with his azz for a week now it is payback time.

Well I really don't know what the conditions will be. I hear it will be 100 degrees and that will suck. I just want to post a good number and not have any technical issues...thats what really makes me nervous.

Kap-that is the problem is that the RDP is two weeks after LOTO and key west is the week after monster bash.I think i can make all 3 if i blow off LOTO.100 degrees sitting out there for hours to make a run doesnt thrill me as was the case 2 and 3 years ago.Last year only had hour waits to run and we made 3 runs in 2 days.Great crowds thou-enjoy.

You know that is a great reminder to bring a golf umbrella and a small cooler onboard. I plan on running in the Professional Class and it went pretty fast the last time. However, I do remember the loooong delays. Every year I did at least 5 runs in the two days along with in water prop changes it was pretty hectic. The Mid-West boat scene is one of our favorites.

RDP being two weeks after LOTO is perfect. Monster Bash is gonna be tough for me but it is on the list. I opted to fly into Key West solo to check things out before I did another long haul with the boat. I plan on offering my help to a guy racing in stock class outboards. It should be fun Doug and Doug Jr. will be there and it should be a fun time. I hope and trust it will be nothing but safe racing as well!
