I just bought a new Dodge. Some crazy rebates on the 1/2 tons right now.
I opted for the $2.99 a gallon deal. Anyone here doing this?

Think your allowed up to 12k miles a year at 2.99 = the following:
Say gas is 4.99 per gallon, you save $2 / gallon. Lets say truck gets 15 miles per gallon. 12k miles/ 15 miles per gallon = 800 gallons x $2.00 = 1600.00 per year savings. Think deals are for 2 years = $3200 cash back on the vehicle. That is at $5 per gallon, if gas stays at $4 per gallon then you are not getting much of a discount. Dodge drivers are going to be hoping gas goes to $10 bucks per gallon![]()
What if gas goes back to .99 cents ?
Actually I believe it is 3 years

Call it what it is, a cash rebate that is spread out over 36 months, they are trying to make it seem more appealing to your pocket book by saying you are getting 3 dollar gas. In the end its about a 3k rebate(less if you figure intrest on your $$) and most of the major car dealers are offering the same 2-3k right up front, but then again once you go through the hassle of mailing all your fuel reciepts and documenting your mileage all year long then waiting for your rebate check to show, then being taxed on it as income............oh man they are worse than the IRS F@!! IT I bought a GM from Jay!!!!![]()
A DC gas card is attached to an existing card of your own. Gas is charged to the card at the pump price and the difference is refunded to the account with in 72 hours.
On the 1/2 ton I get 800 gallons a year for 3 years.
I was leaning towards the incentives in lieu of the gas promotion, but after crunching the numbers and getting a bit more for my truck than they wanted to give me, I will come out slightly ahead with the gas deal.
I still got 8k in rebates, 2k back on my trade in, plus the gas will save me at least a fill up every month.
