    how do those things handle?

Does it feel more like a 550 or a 650?

I got lost after the 650 came out and really have not ridden anything but my 550 since then.

Maybe i'll find a 750 motor and swap it into a 550 hull.

That will never be the same.
    Sorry.

The 800 is a tank that will bust through any chop and feel smooth. It is extremely fast, but heavy. It handles much like the Kawi 750 with sponsons.

There are lighter skis, but not faster, unless you want the 4stroke factory special...

Yup, and that is why I prefer the Yamaha Superjet, wish I would not have sold mine, that thing was light and nimble.

That 800 handles chop like a cadillac, really nimble, rides on rails, hauls ass but it is a tank. I have an FX-1, love it will never get rid of it, and is a 53 plus MPH ski, but it gets smoked in corners obviously due to it's 550 natured hull. If you are into surf riding, I would opt for the Kawie 750/800 or Yamaha S-jet. The hydrospace 4 stroke apparently has a history of tech issues.....

I had a 550 with a 650 modded motor. Looked badass but handled like crap. You'd really need to swap the pump out as well but even then you're left with that crappy 550 hull. Which wasn't that crappy until I rode a newer 750. I'd love to have the new 800 but I quit riding when the kiddos came along as well as boat traffic doubling.

My last ski was a '95 750. I have been wanting to ride a 800 for a while. Bone stock the 750 ripped. I can go get a '08 right now but it would be nice to find a brand new red '07.

The new 800 ski has the same hull as th.e 750 and 750 handled a lot like the old 440 and 550's better on flat water. The 650 is on it's own better in chop and way easy for first time riders.

My brother had a 750 stock and it was pretty fast and fun to ride. Put it this way fast enough to get hurt on.

Here's a Youtube clip, He past away about three years ago.

Nice, I have an FX-1 and love it. The only thing I would change is the color.

I have 2 FX1s, I didn't think there were many left out their, since they only made them in 94 & 95.
