Gets too hot upstairs, looking to install a whole house or attic fan
Anybody have one? How do you like it? Noisy or quiet? I’ve seen prices from $200 to $1200, looking for some input, Thanks.

I have looked ino it and I'm still thinking of doing it, I have heard the cheaper ones are noisy but they seem to work well, one of my buddies has one and it works. Also make sure you look on sce.com for which ones they give rebates for.
I've heard the same thing about the noise, saw This one, and wondered how quiet it really is.
the noise isn't that bad and they are very effective.
They are pretty noisey. But they do work and work really good. In so cal (southern ca. edison) they are offering a 100 rebate for them.
I put one in.....well worth it.The noise is not that bad...and they really cool a place down!!
I have one and yes it is a little noisy but it does work well. There are some newer ones on the market that are a lot quieter.
I was thinking of getting one also, but couldn't find anyone to install it for me.
Best in the evening when you can clear the house of hot air quickly.![]()
You may want to try grainger. They have a huge selection of just about any kind of fan you want. If your installing a fan, one of the most convenient things you can do is put a thermostatic control on it. You can get a decent industrial unit for about 40 dollars from grainger.
well, those thing won't work in vegas, it's 95 degrees here at 10:20pm
