How about Vinegar to remove the wax?
    Denatured alcohol?

Use workout on a foam pad and low speed buffer, and then rewax (don't use carnuba). And then put on your sunglasses. Warning: you might have a clean spot on your boat when finished.

if none of the said above remedies help your situation out, grab some 2000 grit sand paper rub a small area and see if it lightens up, if so, you may be doing it to the entire yellowed area of the boat, then using some compounds and polishes for a new finish on your boat, if you are not comfortable in doing this, and you are in the vacinity of Montclair Ca, i will do a test on your boat for you at no cost, but you will have a small white spot with any luck at all!

Chances are it needs to be professionally wet sanded and then compounded and waxed with a buffer...

Who is the best in So.Cal. to buff a boat. I also need a little bottom gel repair.
    Thanks, Mike

Have had the same yellowing problems but it is not the wax. Mine was caused by the gas fumes inside the boat while covered. The fumes stain the white gel where the cover meets the boat. Tried the 3M and light sanding and it helps a little. But still haven't been able to remove it totally.

    +1 for TRG.

On a side note; I use the Maguiars Marine polish and wax. The wax is caruba based. The boat is almost 30 years old and looks great. Granted I have only had the boat for a season and I don't know what the previous owner used, but I used it on my previous boat and I am really happy with it.
In the event it yellows I'll get to wet sanding.

I don't think it was the wax. My opinion is it may have been the paint thinner or a combination of the two. Maguire’s color restorer works well. It's a light compound and took the yellow out of my gel when I purchased the boat. Follow with a polymer non-wax product to protect it.

You might ask Jordy. He's an expert on everything
