Default Riding in Bed of Truck in AZ. Legal or Not?

Is it legal to ride in a pickup bed while driving around Havasu? See it all the time but don't know if it is legal or not? I also see people riding in the boat while being towed on streets. What about that as well? Don't really see how it is allowed due to the fact that AZ also has the mandatory seatbelt law. Just wondering. Anyone know what the law is?

Pickup bed is legal in AZ, you must be sitting on the floor. This will never get changed, I heard it has a lot to do with the indians or something, all I know is every trip to Powell, I see indians riding in the beds of pickups so it makes sense to me.
R.I.P. Chico & Zeus I miss you both.

I think 17 and up is legal in most if not all states. As of this year the House was looking into maybe changing the law.

I know for a fact it is not legal here in Calif. Trying to find out the "True" laws. Maybe BoatCop will see this and chime in.

The boys ride back and forth to the launch ramp in the boat, too. They thought it was so cool riding in the bed for the first time, too.

It is legal to ride in the back of a truck in AZ.

It is NOT legal to ride in the boat while being towed.

I am not sure about whether it is legal or not, But it is totally unsafe. It should be the responsibilty of the person who allows it If you allow it and there is an accident, you are to blame. You allowed them to ride in the back. Can you let that choice be on your conscience for the rest of your life?

I make sure to never allow people to ride in the back while sober, that way if anything should happen i can blame in on my drinking

I would have sworn it is legal to ride in a towed vehicle with proper seating.

When I was in high school, we were running from the cops in Crawford... the truck behind us hit the railroad tracks too fast, and a friend of mine that was riding in back of the truck was catapulted out and came down on the road breaking both his legs... kind of ruined that Halloween for us...
