Vehicles With Az Plates....

Starting January 1, 2009 a new law goes into effect. If your plate ring blocks "ARIZONA" at the top of the plate, you can get pulled over and written a ticket for $140!!!

I went out and looked at our vehicles, hell the one form the dealership is illegal, and so is the one I put on my wifes car from PF Changs rock and roll maraton!!

So if your stuff has Arizona plates on it, better check them!!

This law is as about as stupid as the "tinted" window law in California.

So: happy hour + illegal plate ring= ???!!!!

That's F**KIN STUPID!!!!! Every vehicle I own blocks that!!! Guess I'm getting the die grinder out!! Like you said, just another excuse!! And 140 bucks, good god man!!

That definitely is a stupid law. Should be able to tell is AZ plates by the color.

I actually think there are over 15 to 20 different AZ plates now! One for the colleges, veterans, etc.
I went online, there are 27 different plates to choose from.

I am for the ticket for dark window tinting only because if you are a cop and pull someone over with real dark tint you can not see into the car to know if the driver is ready to fuck you up

It's been that way for practically forever.

28-2354. License plates; attachment

A. A person shall display the license plate or plates as follows:

1. For a motor vehicle, motorcycle, trailer or semitrailer, on the rear.

2. For a vehicle for which two license plates are issued, the vehicle owner shall display either of the following:

(a) One plate on the rear.

(b) One plate on the front and one plate on the rear.

B. A person shall display all license plates as required by subsection A until their lawful use expires or is canceled or revoked. A person shall maintain each license plate so it is clearly legible and so that the name of this state at the top of the license plate is not obscured. A person shall securely fasten each license plate to the vehicle as follows:

1. To prevent the plate from swinging.

2. At a height of at least twelve inches from the ground to the bottom of the plate.

3. In a position to be clearly visible.

Not a new law. Maybe DPS has been instructed to enforce it more aggressively. More than likely to do with the photo radar that's going up all over the state.

Since there are dozens of specialty plates, they can't tell the State just from the plate design. That way they know where to pull registration info from.

That goes for all the Photo radar covers too – oust them. While they are at it they should return to having a front plate for AZ too.

If some drunk focker or illegal plows down my family I want to be sure I or someone can at least read the fockers plate.

Just as a reminder for cali folks, even a clear cover on either plate is illegal, unless the car is parked. Getting cracked down on, expecially with photo monitored intersections. Also, new case law out on plates not mounted right side up...IE, mounted vertically on a trailer fender. Judges ruled in favor of a plate mounted in that fashion not being readily viewable and distinguishable. I don't think you'll get bothered for it,,,but it's all fun and games until you've had a couple of cold adult bevrages and coming back from the launch ramp!

In Cali, most fix-it violations are reduced to 10.00 upon completion...unless it's deemed to be a purposeful act. (ie correctable vs non-correctable)

I personally hate tint/front plate laws.

Why even put a license frame on your car. Its just an advertisment for some company, most of the time its from the dealer you bought the car from. Why the fuck do you want to advertise for someone who isnt paying you to do so. Fuck those frames.
