Shee-it! Just remembered I put the 2 amp charger on my Blue top Optima 30 hours ago.
It was not hot. Think it's fried?

Are you out of your warranty already or have you had it for a while?
Daniel
I'm trying to charge the one on the buggy right now, I'll find out when I get home...
2 amp,, nahh, but 3 years old,, age isn't very kind to Optimas.
Your direction, not your intention, leads to your destination
I don't know about that.. I've got two red tops on my houseboat. run my stereo and lights, is about all. Kept up by 30 watt solar panel.
HB was launched 10/97. Original batteries still up and running.
Prolly be dead next time I see it though, now that I just opened my mouth..
Is it just me or are toilet seats getting smaller?
I have 2 Optima’s that I rescued from the recycle bin they’ve been with me over 6 years. Over charging Optima’s is the wrest thing you can do to them.
I have 3 optima blue top's that have been in my boat for over 6 seasons. They run a 2,000+ watt stereo and are still going like new.
Proper charging and maintenance is the key. I used a 3 stage automatic charger, charge them every day of use, and keep the batt's fully charged when not in use.
I think your okay. I forget my trickle charger on my boat all the time. Well no more than a couple days. Battery is going on 6 years old. If it was charging at 30A I would say maybe!!
