Yesterday at the grocery store, we ran into the lady who, with her husband, runs the hospitality tent for Kenny and Brandon Bernstein, the Budweiser gear kind of gave it away. She said they are all ready to get out of town. Said the sponsors have been calling and are concerned with teh additional costs as they only plan for 4 days but it has now stretched to almost 7 as most got into town on Wednesday...I'm 3 miles from the strip and can't hear them...
LOL Sat they said they would run them this upcoming weekend if it didn't stop raining, so they all knew they might be camping out...Sat it cleared up a bit they ran them. They also ran them late sun (they were running fuelers at 7pm). Got in a lot of runs. It is what it is. maybe you didn't hear them but they were running. I live in La Verne also.
There were more then 1k people for sure...I just got back. Capps took it. Going out partying with them. Lot of records broke today. Pro stock was on fire.
Good tuesday. I'd rather be at the track then work.
It was great out there, no crowds, and it was kinda cool to see the vendors eat poop, and loose their asses, and the racing, what racing, this "no quarter mile crap sucks, its just not drag racing!!!
But at least Antron got his ass handed to him by Kaletta....go Connie!!!! Go Dougie...
I agree they need to go back to 1/4...but its still racing. Anything pushing 8k horsepower to 318 in a 1000' is intense. I'm not a big fan of antron but watching his car hit 1/8 in 3.01 was pretty cool. Only Gary scelzi has beat that at a 2.99 in the 1/8. Pro stocks impressed me today with the cool air. I was glad to see anderson go out but watching his 52 run was rad as well as AJ and Line's pass.
