I figured you would have completely missed why I question you. thumbs, you can follow along too. The initial report was that 2 NFL players went out to sea for fishing. It never stated that there were 4 men on board, or a captain. Are you beginning to see where my statement stems from? Go back and read it, but I doubt you'll get it this time either.
NOW
We are back to approx.36 hours ago initial report you are concerned with. I am living in real time and every thing that has developed in the past few hours. The US Coast Guard spokesman called the owner of the boat as the CAPTAIN. GO FIGURE.
I have chosen to not go back and read initial sketchy report I`ll leave that up to you do dwell upon.
P.S. have you noticed all the "CRAP" others have posted on this story?
Where the Hell do they get all of it.

I'm not turning this into a pissing match. You know what I think of you and I tend to stay away from your threads. While camped out on my couch being sick, this was not a priority. Did you happen to notice the reports that were there, and then gone? I hope they find the remaining, but I'll get my news from a reliable source.
I'm afraid if they haven't found the other 3 by now the hypothermia has ended the story and they'll eventually wash up. This area of the GoA is quite shallow out for a good ways and the swells often don't appear until several miles out, then it's too late. Lots of FL and Gulf Coast folks take these basic bay boats offshore but don't realize the danger when you get into bigger swells. We have numerous cases of this happen around here every year and you just can't seem to get a lot of folks to realize the danger.
One article said it was an "Everglades" brand and has a foam filled hull like a Whaler or McKee craft. Won't sink but doesn't handle heavy seas well at all, IMO. Sadly they probably didn't think to tie themselves off to the boat in case they capsized, only chance they would have had would have been to stay with the boat.
The seas off TX Sat/Sun were up to plus 10' and maybe some at 15'. The prevailing winds would chop this up pretty bad and make it very dangerous to even turn back around. 25-30 mph winds probably hit FL shortly after these guys got out there. I'd think they did a poor job of checking the weather as it was a predicted storm with SC warnings probable well before their planned return. And I'm sure they didn't understand the currents that kind of weather produces. Ignorance can be deadly at sea.
Hoping for a miracle is all that's left.
Here's what I believe the boat is:

Yes you entered a forum discussing Four (4) Men in jeopardy at sea and all I believe had compassion and concern for four guys they don`t know but having an information sharing process as it came in or as they understood it. They and I did report things as were be reported Live on Fox and others, the ones I did were live with either Family Members who had experienced numerous boating/fishing trips with the NFL player/Owner of boat, and described by the US Coast Guard as The "CAPTAIN" and the vessel was safety checked in Feb. and passed all criteria. This is just forwarding what I saw in real life and watched as others did.I can promise you since so concerned,if reported wrong information,PLEASE think here it was never for evil or "CRAP" reasons as you referred to in your jumping me originally.I am quite confident correct in all my posts, but as said IF WRONG? Go ahead Crucify me.
I understand you dislike me and I can assure feel likewise and avoid you like the Plague (YOU MAY HAVE NOW) as have realized it just brings down to your unexplainable level.I have to laugh you are now going to get information from reliable sources, this must be after jumping my ASS because I did not delete any of my posts as they were correct. You came in looking for trouble and caused it,and sorry as it is a common trait of yours.![]()
I read an article in the Reno online paper that the boat was anchored when it capsized....surely not? An experienced boater wouldn't do that, and besides being 20 or more miles offshore, what is the water depth?
A sad story. The ocean is unforgiving.
I heard that to. It made wonder it there was some kind of mechanical failure.
Is it Summer yet?

Sounds like two of them gave up and took their life jackets off and just drifted out to sea. The third took his jacket off and swam for a light in the distance.

I don't think I would ever give up hope and just let the sea take me. With thoughts of my wife I just don't see myself giving up.
RIP guys.
