POS Neighbors, What would you do??

Heres the story,

Nov 28th, our garage caught on fire. The city came by and tagged the house "Yellow" limited entry, non inhabitable. Insurance would pay for a hotel but we decided to use our travel trailer to live in while the work gets done. We are 2 weeks from getting the final signed off, and are now living in the house.

Now the neighbors...

To but it simply, they dont like us, their neighbors on the other side, or any neighbors on the street. They have accused us of calling animal control even before we moved in by confronting us on one of our walk-thrus. They have zero consideration for others, thats demenstrated by allowing their trash to blow all over the street or by letting their company double and triple park in the street to the point where we have been blocked in. Their 2 dogs bark uncontrollably when we walk outside.
Now their 14 year old son grew a set, strared down my wife then followed her on his bike when she drove away. His 12 year old sister did the same then threw up the bird when she was out of sight from he house. We have heard smart ass comments from the boy "ooh my house caught fire, boo hoo" (use your best sassy voice). The list of things they do can go on and on. Just to show you what kind of family they are he is the kind of Father thats NOT allowed (offically been banned) from coaching his sons basball team. Our other neighbors have told us hes snatched his son by the colar during a game just for throwing some bad pitches, he has been verbally abusive while in the stands etc, etc, etc...

So anyhow... Today while I was at work my wife gets a knock at the door. CODE ENFORCEMENT!!!

Of course theres alot more to this situation, this is just the latest chapter. So I am looking for legal ways to get them back. Ive already put them every mailing list you can think of, contacted code enforcement regarding their 2 10ft piles of rock and dirt they're doing their landscape with that are in the street, the basketball hoop thats on the sidewalk, the 2 barking dogs and the batting/ pitching cage thats in the backyard. What else is there???

Give me something creative, cause all I can think of kicking down their door.

Try to get a copy of the local city or county ordinance code, depending on the jurisdiction. You may be surprised what is allowed or not allowed. Is the landscaping in violation? Is the house color correct? Have they made any alterations without approvals or permits? Have they installed anything without permits? Any undrivable cars in the driveway? Is there garage full of crap instead of open to park cars in? Are the trash cans left out longer than allowed? Do they wash their cars in their driveway and let the soapy water go down the stormdrain? Are there weeds on the property? Is the grass overgrown or dead? Do they leave grass clippings on the sidewalk/street without cleaning them up?

In our city, I have alot of codes to use when inspecting properties. Almost everything is regulated.

I would put your neighbors cars & pets for sale on Craigslist (create a new email address with gmail or yahoo to post them) That would piss them off. If you do not know their number, list that anyone interested should just come by.

Then all that crap on his yard, I would post on the FREE section of Craigslist that the dirt and rock are free to anyone who can haul it away, and put the times it needs to be hauled away, I would pick the times they are not home.

First off, I would start 2 threads asking the same question to throw them off your trail.

Here are some childish remedies:

I wouldn't remove the dirt....I would add to it. Like an inmate removing what he scraped out of his cell the night before, dropped out of your pant leg or pocket. Go on a walk once a night and drop a little dirt. If they peak out of their windows at you making slow speed passes near their rock pile they'll suspect your just plain nuts and might second guess messing with you. Also, a nervous tick or some form of turrets is just gravy.

For sale signs are easy to come by....they're everywhere these days. Just take one...it's ok they won't miss it...it's not like the real house intending to be sold will be sold any time soon. Pick up a 5lb bucket of quickcrete and mount that thing in their lawn. A nice touch is if you could get some of those 20' poles with flags on them like new homes have, line the border of the lawn.

Crickets. You can buy crickets in bulk at any pet store. They're cheap and annoying. RELEASE THE HOUNDS!!!

Park in front of their house. Even if you have a nice big driveway and empty garage no neighbor likes this...for any reason. If you're home early park at your house then around 7-8 every night move over to theirs.

The flaming dog poo ding dong ditch never fails.

Call up and order a septic tank pumping.
Call up and cancel the cable.
Fill out a change of address card and drop it in the mail
Jehovah's come by if you call them.
Cancel the garbage service
Call children's services and say he's beating the kids.(They will hound them to no end)

I have called animal control twice on the neighbors behind me regarding their dogs. Dont get me wrong, I have a dog and love animals, but barking dogs constantly is out of hand. One more letter and they have to explain to the judge why their dogs are barking. I really didnt want to do it and tried to personal approach twice along with the wife, but we didnt get any response.

Do what you think is best and then follow HBJets lead. I love that. On a serious note, when the punk kid starts to taunt you ask him if he is serious and give him the stare like "Are you ready to go?". See what he does. It is very obvious that he has horrible parents that encourage this behavior. That is inexcusable. Parents should be held responsible for raising good humans.

All of their information can easily be given to the wrong people.
Destroying their credit score and ensuring their identities are stolen.
Don't know if that will help you, but it is fun.

My dad is a professional at this kind of thing.

The last thing he did to his next door nieghbor is to call code enforcement for a new wroght iron fence they put up in their front yard. Probobly cost some good coin. Turns out they put it around a utility box making it tough to access by the meter readers and such. They made them take the new fence down.

I reccomend the old calling the cops on their parked cars. Usually, there is a time limit you can leave your car in the street without moving it. Find out the time limit and start calling to have the cops mark it and call again when the time is up and the car is still there. Eventually they will tow the car.

This is my Dad's "bread and butter".

There's a huge bee's nest down the street that we couldn't see before winter that's way up a tree. For a small fee I could shimmy up there with a garbage bag and cut the branch. I'd box it up nice and ship it to them.
It is warm where you live,isn't it?
