Can anyone explain the ramps and the pros/cons of each. I know Windsor gets packed, LH Marina is expensive and has some strict rules.....what is "site 6" all about? If it is free why is it not the preferred place to launch/retrieve?

Curious...who knows the scoop?

ohhhhhh boy.....this could take a bit....I will try to shorten it up.....
If your boat is loud....no marina...
if you are scared of crowds and don't have 4x4.....no site six(also long walk for parking and about 4-5 hours to retrieve)
windsor south ramp is short...with you boat use the nort....it fills up quick tho b there by 9 on regular weekend and 7-8 on holidays.....(I have launched at 6am and sat in line to get in.....by far the best deal in town if you ask me

Yeah site 6 is free but good luck getting your boat out really steep launch ramp I've always had good luck at the Marina easy to get in and out of, and at site 6 you have all the A$$hole gawkers looking and laughing at you instead of giving you a hand. Did site 6 once with a 21' and it was a pain in the ass to get out of there never went back after that

with your boat there is only one place I would launch, I have to say as much as I dislike Windsor I would never launch anyplace else with your boat. You will obviously have to be on the north side and just stay away from the first two or three lanes closest to the lake.

Thanks....we had the "luxury" of launching at the Nautical when we owned the "First Cabin Scam" timeshare!!! It was really cool to launch at midnight!!!

Hate crowds and tough getting the family going too early. I think I will figure out a way to get access to the Nautical ramp..there is always a way!!!:D

Try the marina first, you have the same mufflers I have, you should be fine. Once they test your boat one time you'll be in the computer and good to go.

Windsor fills up on the weekends unless you're early.

What ever you do don't go to Cattail, you're boat is too big for that launch ramp. The Game and Fish officers at Cattail are a..holes, and the parking is horrible.;)

My thougts for you as well. We have launched at each ramp many times over the past 20 years.

Site six: NO
Cattail cove: NO
Take off point: NO
Windsor Beach: north ramp Yes BUT be early like others said, or earlier.
Marina: Best bet if you are comforatble with your DB levels.

I always launch and stay at the Islander. Thats where you will see a lot big loud boats going down the ramp. Never any crowds. You should stay there. Plus its a great place for the kids too. Then you can ride your bicycle to site 6 for the afternoons festivities.;) We are there for desert storm and back for a week in june.
