before you replace it, unplug it from the back of the head unit (3.5mm headphone type plug), clean the plug, and try again. There are only 2 conductors that carry signal for about 14 different functions by changing impedance across those 2 contacts. So anytime there is dust, corrosion, or humidity in the connector you will lose some functions.

....of course the volume buttons may just be wore out.

Might have to try that with mine its a few years old the display shows but none of the buttons work.Also have a new head unit still no action. but might be worth a try.

Just ordered the one rvrtrash recommended on amazon for 60.00 out the door/delivered. I had the cheap white round one. I couldn't it up for that price.
