    Are you turning BBQ's now?
Knock on wood not one problem with my Bakers & Chef-11 y.o.(Sam's Club) or the Brinkman-6 y.o.(Lowe's). But seems to occur often per my siblings.

Stay away from the HomeDepot replacements. They wont work for shit.

I went to A&B Supply here in Havasu and bought an adjustable regulator that will work on any size grill.

Start going out to eat more often......On second thought keep buying new regulators...I have been to one of your BBQ's and it would be a sin to stop them....

I had fuel flow issues before and I thought it was the regulator, but sometimes I had a nice flame and others it wimped out. What became more consistent was opening the valve on the tank and purging a few blasts. You can tell a difference from good flow or a cocked seat. Leave the tank valve open and hook up the BBQ. See if that helps.
