In the end it's funny how the HATER whomever it is finds it neccesary to make a production or need a bleacher full of viewers. If you felt the need to have your content deleted, a simple pm would have done nicely. Then you could have slipped off into the abyss. I think they will be back and back often, probably under another name as this seems to be the norm. We all have a choice, some just want everyone to know thiers

I'm sorry, I thought this mag. was selling a service to it's readers. Publish unbiased articals about all performance boats and the readers will come and the advertisers will follow.

But you people are so worried about making a buck you are missing the big picture. The people who make this site money are the members. If it was not for us you would not be making a dime. Put yourself in the owners shoes, you may have a different outlook. Being a business owner sometimes you have to make decisions that make monetary sense not friends.

Well put, and I agree. I find it hard to believe that most of the larger more renowned boat builders don't do at least a touch of advertising on sites that have decent traffic, shouldn't be too much to throw an ad up.

I'm living the dream!!! Spent 8 days in Mexico moving a 50' sportfisher 700 miles up the coast, fishing, drinking the finest Mexican beer, and working on the tan. No complaints here.

Jake I understand your point and that is the end goal. But to get there you have to have advertisers to pay the bills on an enterprise of this size. If you piss off the advertisers that pay the bills by allowing freeloaders to have free center stage coverage then you end up with no or few advertisers and never reach the end goal of supplying the readers with quality content. It is a tough equation. You would be amazed the PM's I receive from paying advertisers as soon as a freeloader is spotted throwing free spam up. You guys never see it but the admins do and I'm sure Chris gets an ear full even more often.

    Comment:

Whoa there! and how did you come up with these unsupported conclusion(s). I appreciate your work as a moderator but the above highlighted sections are wholly inappropriate. I don't care who you are they read in a very unprofessional manner.

You can say you moved the thread but all the nonsense and unsupported conclusions are bullshit in my opinion.

    Question:

    1. Do you know for a fact that Howard Custom Boats aka Gene Willen refuses to advertise?

    2. Do you know that Howard aka Gene Willen posts stuff to gain exposure for free. I do not see him posting anything unless you have personal knowledge of this fact---- that is an outright false statement.

    3. Just who are you calling a freeloader? There is a definite insinuation in your post and it is objectionable and I am being mild and diplomatic.

Note: You should in the interest of professionalism edit your post for clarity because I know you can write better than what was demonstrated.

Moving the thread in my opinion was completely appropriate. Last time I checked Scott Ernst aka Havasu Dreamin is not an employee of Howard---ambassador yes! advocate yes! is it spam possibly--- should it go to the Grey water--- sure no objections here---same as the Cobra thread.

However, when you make personal statements such as the highlighted sections above you have really crossed the line.

    KAP

P.S. I would feel the same way if you were discussing any other manufacturer in the boating industry yourself included.

I am wondering if Admin does any studies as to what the Posters on this site spend with the advertisers. Is there really a value to the advertisers in running these forums? Do the advertisers have input into who can post?

Do all of the posters have a subscription? I have one but did not need to enter any info to join. I do belong to several forums where you must put your subscription info in to join. Seems like a better way to go if you are a revenue driven business.

I am sure that many of the Posters on this sight don't spend a dime with the advertisers.

I am not in the marine industry but if I were to advertise on a Boating Web site It would not be where the most used part of the site is the Social forums. Rather than trying to say the non advertisers are bad guys why don't you prove the value to them?

KAP the parts you quoted came directly from Chris to me in a phone conversation so they are not unsupported in my view. I will stand by them until they are refuted or removed by Chris. In your business I know you know the truth sometime hurts. I generally don't sugar coat things much as I find the sugar gets in the way of the truth.

As I stated in the picture thread Chris moved the thread, not me. I also said it was third party spam in his evaluation and never said it was direct spam from Howard. Howard's position as related by Chris to me is why should they advertise when they get coverage for free? That is Chris's disagreement. If he wishes to step in and change or remove my evaluation of fact he certainly can but that is what I understand to be the truth based on conversations with him in past weeks on third party spam.

I totally understand what your saying!

Maybe you should publish those PM's so we can see the mentallity of those advertisers.

I find it kind of strange that I can't openly talk about the good or bad points of my boat on a boating site because the manufacture doesn't give PB money. Sure would love to see a list of advertisers on this site. For the sake of arguement, lets assume that 5% of boat related company's advertise here. Seems to mean were not allowed to talk about 95% of the industry. Pretty bad ratio.
