    Default Utilities going sky high

I got my latest electric bill and it was double from last month. Its not due to more usage because I have talked to others and they also got doubled. Some have been in the $600 range. I just got news that my water bill-sewer bill will be doubling as well. I live in a small 1200 ft home and have no kids so me and my wife can keep our bill reasonable but for those who have a 2500 ft with a few kids this will add up. This was one of the reasons I moved away from Havasu but if this keeps up Havasu will look cheap. My biggest worry is if my rates doubled that means that businesses also have doubled and that will not be good for any of them, as they are barely hanging on now. I live in Northern California.

And water will be going up as well. Good thing it will go to more retirement pensions.

Electric rates in Havasu are supposed to increase by another 18% in the next year. That will amount to a 36% increase in 3 years.

my tribe(choctaw) has a program where they'll put in 1 well and 1 septic system per member's lifetime, and last wk i signed up for my well, sick of payin my water bill. i get charged for trash pickup, yet i'm out in the country where there's no pukin trash trucks runnin, i have to pay a seperate waste removal company to pick up my trash weekly wanted to wait on the well till i moved out to my lake property when i retire or when the kids are all off to college , but i think i better go ahead and take it now

Dare to be different, if it turns out great you can claim you planned it that way.

My bill more than tripled. It happened right after they installed the new "smart meters" here in our area. (Nor Cal) I called PG&E just yesterday and they researched my usage for the last 5 years and March through August are actually less than minimal usage months for me yet my bill has tripled. They are launching an investigation into why and they also knocked a percentage off the bill per the previous years during this time period. If you call and complain, they will check it out. If they recently installed the new meters it could be the meter as well. Lots of complaints about them.

I as well saw a new digital meter on our Havasu home and our electric bill has also doubled with close to the same amount of usage! Went out to the breaker box a couple of weeks ago and that is when I noticed the new meter. We are waiting to see what our bill is for this month before we start calling.

back in 99 that ice storm that came thru on xmas eve left us without power for a whole month i bet i went thru 300-400gallons of gas trying to keep the generator runnin. then got a bill for 400 bucks for electricity, even though i had NO ELECTRICITY

he did mention something to me about solar powering the well, said it was a upgrade option i could purchase but wasn't tribal approved i'm guess'n they use solar panel on the roof of the wellhouse, then charge batteries up for back up power, not real sure, i'll see the guy tues, his truck is parked right behind me now

Just keep your fingers crossed that Cap & Trade doesn't get enacted.....Like the man said, "You ain't seen nothin' yet....."

The US is going to run out of affordable reliable power if the idiots at the helm don't back off on clean coal and Nuke. Those big fan farms are a joke.

Grundfos.com has solar systems. Personally I dont get into much solar stuff, just your normal domestic and commercial systems. (Pump tech for 20 yrs.)
