Make sure you check the pinion bearings. Seals usually leak for a reason. If the bearings are junk you need to disassemble the unit, change all the bearings inspect axle bearings and thoroughly clean the unit and housing (metal).

well i change out the balancer on the rear end. boy thats a weird one. drove it about 3 miles and it ended there. bad, bad sounds, got hauled back to my shop on back of a flatbed tow truck. talk to a shop and they said appox. $1100.00 to $1200.00 to fix. at least it did not leak anymore
by the way the socket is a 12 point 36 mm.
