This should show the off-road crowd that they need to work together or who knows how much more land will be taken away from us

Pretty extreme site there. I'm surprised recreational boats are not on their list of offenders.

    Small excerpts from this site:

    Definition of Thrillcraft:

Thrillcraft are machines used primarily for recreation. Examples of thrillcraft includes snowmobiles, jet skis, four wheelers, dune buggies, swamp buggies, and dirt bikes. When machines are used for “thrill seeking” they are, by our definition, a thrillcraft.

Thrillcraft are generally designed for use off of traditional routes and roads and/or for high speed. Many owners of thrillcraft enjoy challenging themselves by “attacking” the land or water, seeking out steep slopes or rough pathways through the woods.

    -----------

The use of thrillcraft is ultimately about civil responsibility that goes along with civil rights. We live in a society that seeks to promote and preserve freedom, tranquility and justice for all citizens. And every citizen has a responsibility to live their life in a manner that helps to further those lofty objectives. The tearing up of public property for pleasure, imposing loud, raucous noise and dangerous, smelly flumes upon other citizens, terrorizing of wildlife and other people, and the needless and excessive consumption of valuable and increasingly scarce natural resources is anti-social and demonstrates a failure to live in a responsible manner.

    [keyword right there]

    -----------

Due to the lack of a unifying vision for public lands and thrillcraft use we believe the conflicts between thrillcraft and all other public lands users will only increase. Thus we come to the deliberate conclusion that the only patriotic thing to do is to just say no to all thrillcraft on all public lands.

Everyone has there right to speak but what a bunch of crap. Start reading some of their site, Jeez. They even have a pic of a waverunner almost hitting two kids. Looks to me like the kids were photchopped in. The last trip we were on we rode the dirt bikes to an old mining town for lunch. When we got there a table was set up with free maps and info about the fee to be charged starting next year for the area. I started asking questions. It was to protect the tortoise, cost was unknown, where to buy was unknown, length of the permit was unknown. All these people knew was that a fee was coming and how it was going to help the tortoise. This told me what side of the desert these people were on and it wasn't the the side of the motorcycle rider.

I just read this website, and what a joke. I wish I had the time to read the University studies cited in this website.

Environmentalists are a huge problem in the country. I honestly believe that this group of people exists to create a situation where governments, local, state or federal, can see an issue and create a "license fee" or "land use fee". Basically fleece us of more money.

Was this in Randsburg? There is a tortoise preserve out by Cal city & they are probably lacking funding. All these people need to get a life.

Need to stand fast people. Environmentalism is a top priority for the radical left especially with this admin in charge. It's gonna get nasty. Special interest groups like these are going to be the voice for policy change.

They've even tied ORV use with the health care issue. They claim the use of thrillcraft promotes an unhealthy lifestyle on par with smoking. It leads to obesity and other conditions thus has overwhelmed the health care system. Unreal!

I continue to believe the health care debacle is about controlling our lives and lifestyles. They WILL eventually chalk every aspect of life to a matter of health and put limitations on manufacturing right on down to consumption. Basically, if it's deemed "unhealthy" to the planet and the environment and to individuals in society, then it must banned. Simple as that.

The logic is baffling at best. Just like Global Warming, they've studied and documented a select few areas and have determined it to be a nationwide crisis.

Unless we push back against these groups that have major influence over local, state and federal policies, I'm positive that ALL outdoor activities will be very different in the coming future.

I think you are very correct with the above. The problem I see is that there are many of them, many organized groups, and not much organization within the industries and sectors they target (by comparison). And... the far left in control of Congress is going to have a very sympathetic ear to their schpeel to ban anything engine powered (this will eventually expand to include performance boats, mark my words). It may be next year or 5 to 10 years. If you read their website in the "our vision" section, it flat out says that the first step is to implement restrictions and ultimately go for total banning of any type of offroad vehicle use, not only including offroad 4 wheelers, but snowmobiles, jet skies, and several other categories they've singled out.

We need to take note of how we are viewed by others. I ride off-road & dual sport. I ride lots of fire roads & trails in our local mts. I see lots of needless damage by people that just don't care about anything or anyone, not even themselves. I belive I have a right to ride, but also belive I don't have a right to destroy where I ride.
We need to leave as little of footprint as possible on the land or water that we use.
This group is out of hand, but not far from how a lot of people see us. The I don't give a shit life style has no place off-road anymore then we like it on the water.
