Los Angeles - The National Weather Service has issued tornado warnings for South Central Los Angeles County and Orange County as a severe thunderstorm moves ashore.

The warnings will continue until 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. They cover South Central Los Angeles County, including Long Beach, and several Orange County cities such as Anaheim, Irvine and Santa Ana.

The weather service says radar shows a thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado is moving northeast at 35 mph.

The weather service says if there is a whirlwind, anyone caught outside should seek shelter in a reinforced building or try to shelter in a culvert, ditch or a low spot.

Tornado? Yeah right. What, like a F-.5?

The Dallas Raines are getting all excited n'chit and of course some people are freaking out.

My wife just called from Irvine, said her bosses are prepared to evacuate in case the windows blow out as a result of this "tornado" warning. Give me a friggin break.

    You guys are messed up.

A warning means one has been detected.

A watch is conditions are favorable.

    Duh !!

A whirlwind is a Barbie tornado.

People here in Upland are freaking out thinking there's gonna be a tornado. Rumor Chaffey College was in full lock down. Hell the Santa Ana winds are pretty regular around here.

What pisses me off is the peeps in Long Beach are 2 feet under water and yet our state and govt. keep supporting other countries in time of need and yet a ton of the USA's infrastructure is f'd up and needs upgrading, power grids, sewer systems, flood controls etc. etc. Why do we have to wait until something happens to our own to fix the problem? Ie. 911!!
