Cat VS V hull.....which do you prefer for Havasu / River conditions

Curious on everyone's opinion, im still looking for a boat and have taken a liking to the 28' Nordic Heat. The Heat has a pretty deep V hull compared to some of the other performance boats of that size ive seen. How does this affect the boats speed and performance? Is it a good rough water boat? When I say rough water, i mean "blown out" havasu conditions, not offshore ocean chop! Id be happy with a 50mph cruise and topping out in the low-mid 60's with a light load, and the boat is very comfortable and has a awsome mid cabin for us tall dudes. But im still curious, what do you all prefer, a V hull or a Cat for havasu / river conditions? Ive been on alot of different V's, but never a larger Cat.

I own a 25'Nordic V and I'd trade it in 4 a cat anyday. The V is nice for the mid cuddy, but really, how much sex r u gonna have on the water?

Had 5 vee's in havasu, switched to a cat last year, no comparison. The cat is sooo much better in the chop.

What about hitting off angle rollers, say from another boats wake? I need to go for a ride in a Cat before i make a decision, i probably dont know what im missing

I've owner this flippin V for 3 years and it still kills me going over rollers. Maybe I'm not driving it right but I graduated from a 21 Daytona and never slowed for anything.

in the v you have to slice the wake and not bounce over it..did u find the needles thingy..

Yup, found in n wur goin. Slice the wakes, shit that means I need to head for the shore more than going straight ahead.

If I was a resident of Havasu I would own a cat. I have a 29' Fountain because of the ocean (which I like to frequent when I can). The V is great when havasu get's really windy (40-50's), I go out when most people are comming in and my boat runs awesome and it has a nice deep freeboard.

cool, will talk before then...ya i am suprised i have not been pulled over for drinking while driving the boat..all over trying to slice those wakes especially the 4'rollers..well not those i just time it right and let fly
