Anybody have one of those Motorcycle carriers that go into a hitch?

Myself and a couple freinds are heading up to Havasu this weekend in order to sell a 125 to a member that lives up there, go riding for the day and then bring back a Hallett to SoCal. We're taking four bikes up there, selling one and just bringing our own bikes back. Due to us needing to bring the boat back, we can't tow a trailer for the bikes on the way up. I have a few options.......

1.) Try to fit four bikes in the back of my truck(has anybody done this? The bikes consist of 2-CR250s, the YZ125 and a YZ426?

2.) Ask a board member if I might be able to borrow his. I would only have a bike on it for the ride up and then it would just be in the bed of my truck on the way back as I'll be towing a boat.

you can put 4 bikes in with no problem. i have had 4 bikes (full size) and 2 50's in mine.

You should be OK with four bikes. Tailgate down,unless you have a longbed, and put two of them in backwards. Don't know if you'd have a problem towing the boat with the tailgate down or not?

I've got a Versahauler. The thing is massive as it holds 2 bikes. You can use it if needed. It works great. It has a tension device that bolts to the receiver so there is minimal shake...mostly flex...no noise. I don't think you could hurt the thing if you tried...I already tried!

It's a standard bed. I'll most likely take the tail gate off....at leat I would have to if I attached one of these hauler things.

Bikes do fit without a tailgate right?

Where are you located? Although I'm liking the responses about being able to fit four bikes in my truck.

You should be able to fit 4 bikes in your truck. I'm a little north of Murrieta off of the 215/Scott Rd.

LOL, didn't think of that. Ya, I guess you could always take the tailgate off if you want to get all crazy. But the 4 bikes shouldn't be an issue, I fit 2 raptor 80's, 1 YZ450F, a Honda 50, generator, plus other random stuff(2 gas cans, bike stand, ramp, etc) in mine.

You can do 4 bikes in the bed of the truck. First bike goes head in, next one goes back in and so on. Or you can do them all head-in with a toolbox or something to stop two of them from going all the way forward so the bars don't hit each other. Might have to roll the bars forward or back a bit if the stil hit.

I have one of the carriers that you would be welcome to use. I live in Via Verde, San Dimas. I have the one that jacks up and it works very well.

4 will work fine in one bed. If you have the metal stands, you staggar the bikes, and put two facing in, and then the other two you place the rear tires against the stands and handle bars out towards the rear. Weve done it with 4 full size bikes in a short bed truck.
