Go ahead and post this up in the jet boat section. I'm sure they would love to see this set-up.
Couldn't you just have gotten a Gregor from Sears and put some inner tubes around it?
Just kidding, looks nice. It actually would be great to raft up to to party...![]()
That thing is dope!
2012 Desert Storm Poker Run...Be apart of one of the largest poker run events in the country! April 24th - 38th 2011.
Very cool.
You just got a new boat not all that long ago if I remember right. Is that funding due to the huge hike in out of state registration fees a few years ago?

Not directly. These 2 new boats, the new Whalers and the Tri-toon we got last year came from AZ State Lake Improvement Fund Grants. Most of that money comes from Marine Fuel Taxes and Highway Fuel Taxes attributed to Marine use. (Those taxes are per gallon, so the price of gas DOES NOT affect the amount of tax funds realized)
A small portion (about $250,000 - $300,000) is from registration fees. The fund usually produces about $5-$6 Million a year. Cities, Countys, etc. apply for grants that will enhance Arizona Waterways or construct new Lakes.
Nearly all amenities you'll find on the Lakes were paid for by these grants. Launch Ramps, campgrounds, public parking, bouys, dredging the London Bridge Channel (and other channel projects), First Aid and Safety Stations, Fire Boats, Patrol Boats, etc. are all funded through these grants.
The Grants are competitive, and ranked on a 100 point scale, depending on what statewide needs are and how well the project meets those needs. So a small County (like us) can't get beat out by the bigger jurisdictions, so long as I can write a grant proposal in the high 90s.![]()
Are your old boats auctioned somewhere?

We have an annual Auction of surplus and seized vehicles and equipment. The last one was the beginning of December. We sold off our '94 Whaler w/2001 Optimax 225 for $5,000 and the '98 w/ an identical Optimax for $5,500. Nada guide was $12,000-$15,000 ea.
We are going to Auction the boats that these replaced, but we're going to use an Auction Company, so we can get rid of them sooner. If they sat in the AZ sun in storage for 8 months, they'd be trash and practically worthless.
1 is a '91 Jet Craft Aluminum boat w/350 Chevy and Kodiak Pump and the other is a 2001 Sea Doo 20' Challenger w/ single 200 Optimax inboard jet.
now if it had a bbq and portapottie, yud be pimpin
