Actually Todd, it is a big deal, (at least IMO) "YOUR" vision pulled the LHCMA out of the ashes it was in and YOU!!! brought it to the forefront of the community as a viable boating association, intent on bringing pertinent information to the boating community and Educating the public/city on the importance of boating to our community. however once again "The Good O'L Boys Network" of Havasu MAGICALLY reared it's typical greedy and short sighted head, and yes a majority of the LHCMA upper membership is part of that Good O'L boys network that pulled off so many back door deals in the city council in past years. they made it very clear that the LHCMA's future focus is how to best line their pockets by attracting people to buy their boats here in Havasu, Rather than to promote the community of boating, which in the long run would have brought them the customers they seek.

Lake Havasu City Manufactures Association thats what it is now and nothing more.

Todd you brought class, integrity and vision to the LHCMA the likes of which the Good O'l Boys will never be able to comprehend
I still agree with and will always fully support Your vision for the LHCMA, I have no doubt your vision will thrive free of all the constraints of the Good O'l Bo....errrrrrrr LHCMA

    GO!!!! (H.A.B)

They must have figured you do enough self-promotion for the entire town Spammit and they'd only be competing with a professional and wasting their time and efforts...

    Karl,

I know for certain that Ron is/has tried hard for many years to make the boating community better. He bought a boating company (Sleek/Magic) because they loved to boat so damn much and wanted to make it their lives. He has spent substantial money in working on another marina that is open to all boaters, 7 days a week, regardless of how big or loud your boat may be.

Another marina will happen, and the driving force behind it will be Ron and the people he has brought together for that goal. He has some experience in his corner. His brother got another marina on Lake Powell and through the indian reservation done. Havasu should be cake compared to that, especially since they know 100% what it takes to get it done in terms of financing, construction, and operation.

Stick behind the businesses/manufacturers. You need them as much as they need you.

As far as Todd goes, he is a good, stand up guy. I would support anything he does in the future. Good luck Todd, I know you worked hard to get the organization to where it is today. Good for you, you should be proud and have pride in those efforts.

Have to agree with you Carl!
I was skeptical about the LHMA and started seeing and beliveing the direction Todd was taking it was for the boaters.Look at the history of the LHMA over the past 15-16 yrs then look at the past year in that small amout of time Todd has taken it to the next level if not beyond.
Time will tell who the LHMA is looking out for the boaters or local manufactures?
Best of luck whatever you do Todd!

I have to agree with the general sentiments of this thread. I thought that the direction that Todd was headed....helping to increase awareness, working together with the police, cultivating an environment of trust, etc. were good things. I too will take a wait and see attitude and hope that LHCMA continues to promote boating, boating rights, boating safety and a general spirit of cooperation.

I have to admit that I sent a "donation" to the LHMA solely because of Todd's vision as he laid it out to me one night in slowinhavasu's kitchen. I agreed something needed to be done to involve the boaters who GENERATE the HUNDREDS of MILLIONS of dollars that flood into LHC each year. Not Todd's fault but I didn't even get an acknowledgement that my "donation" was received let alone any addition, official contact from the association. Well, guess what...I won't be "donating" next year. Todd was the public face of the LHMA and now there might as well be no face.

Though I have a house in LHC and will probably retire there in the not too distant future, I seriously doubt I'll ever buy a boat built there. I will use the local service facilities such as Absolute and probably shop at West Marine when needed but that's about it.

As I said before - best wishes to Todd and Dana and I'll see you soon in LHC.

    Default Job well done.

Todd you did more to promote boating and bring some common sense politics to Havasu then we have seen in a long time.
Wish you all the best at whatever you decide to do next.
