What ever happened last year whan part of a cliff fell on to a couple of boats? Is it closed or better yet did it ever close?

I don't think it fell onto boats, it just fell. It's not closed, just some warning bouys around the area where the rock fell. It's near the beach in the back.

Don't know if this is gasoline alley, but I found this.........
Falling rock slab sinks Lake Powell boat; 1 dead, 1 missing
    By Associated Press

PAGE, Ariz. — One person is dead and a second is missing after a gigantic rock slab apparently broke off a sandstone arch at Arizona's Lake Powell and smashed onto a boat.

The National Park Service says the slab, approximately 250 square feet in size, fell onto the bow of the boat, capsizing it.

Other boaters discovered the accident Friday, saying they had passed the craft 20 minutes earlier in Lake Canyon and had waved to the two people on board.

Rangers recovered the body of a woman.

Divers were called to the site, where water depths are approximately 150 feet, to find the second victim.

Names of the victims weren't immediately available.

It went down something like this, people had been jumping off the rocks (just above were the buoys are) all day long when all of a sudden some small rocks start falling when there was no one on the rocks. Now the end of the cove (were the picture was taken) was full of boats wall to wall! Then it happened a huge side of the jumping rock came falling into the water. No one was under it at the time but the wave it created smashed boats into each other and parents were trying yo get there kids off the beach and to safety before the 4 foot wave hit and it did! People were pushed between boats, washed onto shore and when it was over the cove looked like a tsunami hit. But it was not over, every one went to the Kathrine's marina right after and was hit by a huge thunder storm that broke docks loose, tossed boats around and total mayhem at the boat ramp with every one trying to get off the water at once with 50 mph winds, other than that it was a just another day at the lake.

Yep, exactly how it went down. The back of the cove was full of firemen at a Firemans Fun Week from OCFA. Lots of damage to boats, but luckily no one was seriously injured.

And, it wasn't last year, but more like three years ago. The jump rock was known as the "Cats Eye".

The cat's eye rock is still there. It's further up towards the mouth of the cove. People jump all over that place, though. I've seen people jump here over this site last year ( I know, that's history ). I think they think the bouys are to keep boats out so they can jump

You are avoiding the question...............whens the last time you graced Lake Mohave with your presence?

My kids have jumped off the rock in the entrance to GA.
Just after that this huge pontoon boat full of huge women flashed my 8year old boys. It's our fault, it IS gasoline alley My kids wanted to poke their eyes out with sticks. Since then we stick to Cactus Cove. We did cruise by this last trip, I don't think I have any pics, it was empty

LOL, last . . . hmmm. Dam Run. Last June. I think we only went to the Colorado River System 4 times last year. April and June Mo-choppy, Late July Topoc and September to Parker. But I spent a month in Montana! I could only fit so much time in. This year will be even less
